The Richmond Broadcasters Hall Of Fame is a not-for profit organization, formed in 1993 by a core group of eight local broadcasters... dedicated to the development of a social and business network of local broadcasters and support personnel... as well as a conduit to acknowledge and award outstanding colleagues.
WHAT WE DO
Our main activity is the annual Frank Soden Lifetime Achievement Awards, established to recognize local on-air personalities who have made a significant contribution to the advancement of the broadcast medium in the Richmond radio/television market. Inductees have amassed a minimum of 10 years local on air experience. This award was developed by the event founders as a way to honor broadcasters who helped pioneer radio and television in Richmond and those who followed in their footsteps to develop the medium into what it is today.
In 1997, we added the Richmond Broadcasters Hall of Fame “Broadcasters of the Year” award which honors a contemporary on-air personality who has exhibited qualities including leadership, public service, outstanding on-air performance and professionalism. Awardees must have been on the air during the year previous to the award presentation.
Nominations for both awards are garnered from members of the Metro-Richmond broadcast community at-large.
